Perth Airport Guide
Comprehensive Perth Airport Guides
Perth Airport is the main gateway for all visitors arriving into Western Australia, and handles more than 10 million passengers each year. The main terminal for international passengers at the airport is located around 10 miles from the city centre, while the principal domestic hub used by Qantas is around 3 miles closer, although because the two buildings are on opposite sides of the runway, the distance between them is around 6 miles. The two terminals are connected by a complimentary bus service that takes about 15 minutes to get from one to the other.
The airport is undergoing a far reaching review of operations that is expected to see it transformed into a major transport hub for the southern hemisphere. When the Airbus A380 comes into general service, many airlines are expected to route their planes into Perth rather than Bangkok or Singapore to create a non-stop service to Australia. It is envisaged that smaller aircraft will convey passengers to their ultimate destinations.
